The RI Regional Extension Center (REC) was formed as part of a federal grant aimed to assist Rhode Island based healthcare providers in adopting, implementing and optimizing electronic health records (EHRs) to achieve Meaningful Use objectives. The United States Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) dispersed these funds through the creation of 62 RECs to help healthcare providers in their geographic areas adopt EHRs and qualify for the financial incentives that come with achieving Meaningful Use.
By choosing to partner with the REC, Rhode Island providers have access to subsidies, tools, services and guidance as they work to achieve Meaningful Use.
