Edward J. Quinlan
President, Hospital Association of Rhode Island
Edward Quinlan is President of the Hospital Association of Rhode Island, a position he has held since 1995. Prior to that, he was Vice President for the Washington Capitals, a National Hockey League team based in Landover, Maryland.Quinlan also served as Press Secretary for U.S. Senator John H. Chafee of Rhode Island from 1989 to 1993. He has held positions with Gilbane Building Company, Kent County Memorial Hospital and North Miami General Hospital.
Quinlan received his B.A. in Journalism from the University of Rhode Island in 1971 and did graduate study in Communications at the University of Miami in 1972. His professional and community activities include regional delegate/State Issues Forum of the American Hospital Association, Board of Directors of Cornerstone Adult Day Care Services, member of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Health Care, the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees, Meeting St. School Board of Trustees, National Kidney Foundation Board of Directors, Rhode Island Academic Decathlon Board of Directors, Rhode Island Department of Human Services Advisory Commission on Health Care, Rhode Island Prevention Coalition – Executive Committee, Rhode Island Sports Council Board of Directors, University of Rhode Island Alumni Association Executive Committee and the University of Rhode Island College of Nursing Advisory Council.
