Meet the Board

Yul D. Ejnes, MD, FACP
President, Rhode Island Medical Society

Yul D. EjnesYul D. Ejnes, MD, FACP, is a general internist in private practice in Cranston, Rhode Island. He received his medical degree from Brown Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island in 1985 and completed his internal medicine residency training, followed by a year as Chief Medical Resident, at Rhode Island Hospital.

Dr. Ejnes is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been a fellow (FACP) of the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine since 1994. He is currently Governor of the Rhode Island Chapter of that organization and serves on its national Health and Public Policy Committee and Marketing and Communication Committee. He is Immediate Past President of the Rhode Island Medical Society and a member of its Executive Council since 1995. He is Past President of the Rhode Island Society of Internal Medicine.

A founding partner of Coastal Medical, Inc., Rhode Island’s largest private group practice, Dr. Ejnes is a member of its Board of Directors and chairs its Management Information System Committee. He is a staff physician at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence and served on several committees including the Medical Executive Committee, Credentialing Committee, and the Medical Record Committee, which he chaired. He is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Brown Medical School, where he teaches medical students and residents, including training medical residents in the private practice setting.  Dr. Ejnes has written and lectured on medical use of the Internet and was one of the first physicians in Rhode Island to use electronic mail for patient-physician communication.
