Rich Leclerc is President and CEO of Gateway Healthcare, a regional mental health and substance abuse service provider offering a comprehensive array of behavioral health care services to children, adults and families. Gateway provides comprehensive behavioral health care services to over 15,000 individuals each year by a staff of over 750 employees and has annual revenues of approximately $48 million.
In his previous role, Mr. Leclerc was Chief Executive Officer of Mental Health Services of Cranston, Johnston and Northwestern Rhode Island, a JCAHO accredited, community mental health center with revenues of $17 million, employing approximately 225 staff.On July 1, 2005, Mental Health Services merged with Gateway Healthcare.
He is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW), the Association of Mental Health Administrators and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). He has been on the Board of Directors of the RI Council of Community Mental Health Organizations since 1985.Mr. Leclerc is a past President and is current Treasurer of the Board. He also serves as on Collaborative Care Committee, chairs the RI Governor’s Council on Behavioral Health and is Region I Director on Board of Directors of National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare.
Mr. Leclerc’s educational background includes a BA in History, Cum Laude, from the Catholic Universityof America in Washington, D.C., Masters of Science in Foreign Science/International Business and Economics from Georgetown University, and a Masters in Social Work, Summa Cum Laude, from Boston College, Graduate School of Social Work.He also completed an advanced professional program at the New York University Graduate School of Business.
